Growing up, I was the kid who was always watching Animal Planet or the Discovery Channel. I’ve had a fascination with the natural world, and an aptitude for working with people from a young age. Over the years I’ve had the privilege of taking part in many overseas mission trips, which have cultivated a love for working closely with the inhabitants of the developing countries I’ve visited. Until high school, I had no idea how to put my interests and abilities into real world practice, but I was pointed by a few great teachers/mentors to Texas A&M University at Galveston. So here I am, pursuing my undergraduate in Marine Biology, and teaching certification in Secondary Education.

My future aspirations are not set, I don’t know where I want to be, or what exactly I want to be doing. My hope is simply this: to be able to keep experiencing and learning about the importance of this natural world around me, to have the opportunity to educate those who share this fascination, and to help change the minds of those who don’t.
