Kate Pfeifer started diving in 2001 and simply fell in love with the underwater realm. She gained certifications from PADI, IANTD & NSS-CDS, plunging into the cold waters of the Great Lakes & the warm waters of the Caribbean. Most thrilling was the exotic life of Fiji and diving with the Hawaiian Green Turtles off Oahu’s North Shore and her cave diving experiences in Florida & Mexico.
Introduced to the Cambrian Foundation in 2001, she was asked to be the Project Director for the 2002 S.S. Commodore Project. She coordinated the logistics, fundraising, dive safety operations and helped integrate a student fieldwork program.
For several years, she owned/operated an aquatic apparel retail store in Pittsburgh, PA. Currently she works as project manager & document control supervisor in the commuter rail industry. Along with scuba diving, Kate is passionate about traveling & photography.
