Back to Bermuda it is! Amy and Carl hit the road/air in the middle of the night to head to Bermuda for the Bermuda Cave Conservation Distance Learning Expedition, in partnership with Interactive Expeditions. We will be doing a series of live and interactive broadcasts from underwater in Fantasy Cave, which is part of the Walsingham System. We are grateful to the many sponsors making this experience possible!
Carl and Amy met in Philadelphia and enjoyed a 2 hour flight to Bermuda where we were met by Gil Nolan, Anne Glasspool, Terrence, and Rehan. Gil and Annie are instrumental in making this expedition possible, and we are thankful for all of their assistance and patience! Terrence has been here all summer working on his field work, and Rehan works at Triangle Diving. After loading all of the gear, we met up with the Interactive Expeditions crew and Jenny Gautier (2008 Legare R. Hole Memorial Scholarship Recipient) at Clear View Guest Cottages for a meeting and discussion about the days to come. Oh, and we did rent scooters so we could begin that part of the journey as well…driving on the WRONG side of the road…so far, so good.

We were enjoying a leisurely visit to Triangle Diving to plan gas fills and equipment needs when Carl and
Terrence were asked to assist the Bermuda Police Department offshore. Somewhere around midnight, we were treated to a dinner in St. Georges, courtesy of Rehan and Jenny. It has been a long day and we are anxious to get going tomorrow with our cave visits, equipment staging, and broadcast tests!
